# Nigel Pinchley

Englishman who buys the Drunken Clam and then burns it down for the insurance.

## Core facts

- **Role:** Englishman who buys the Drunken Clam
- **First appearance:** One If by Clam, Two If by Sea (S03E04, 1 August 2001)
- **Credited appearances:** none in the source's principal cast or guest lists. This does not prove he never appears, because the source records at most ten voice credits per episode.

## Story

After a hurricane, the Drunken Clam's owner sells the bar to Pinchley and moves to Florida. Pinchley turns it into a stereotypical British pub, which drives out its regulars. The pub burns down the next night. He had drawn a large insurance payout the day before the fire. The regulars are blamed and jailed. Lois gets a confession out of him, and his insurance agent works out the rest. He is hanged in London, and his daughter Eliza is sent to an orphanage.

## Relationships

- **Daughter:** Eliza. [Stewie Griffin](stewie-griffin.md) tries to correct her Cockney accent as part of a bet with [Brian Griffin](brian-griffin.md).
- **Blamed for the fire:** [Peter Griffin](peter-griffin.md), [Glenn Quagmire](glenn-quagmire.md), [Cleveland Brown](cleveland-brown.md) and [Joe Swanson](joe-swanson.md)
- **Investigators:** [Lois Griffin](lois-griffin.md), [Bonnie Swanson](bonnie-swanson.md) and [Loretta Brown](loretta-brown.md). Lois draws out his confession.

## Common errors to avoid

- **The regulars did not start the fire.** They were wrongly blamed and freed once Pinchley confessed.
- **He did not own the Drunken Clam originally.** He bought it from its previous owner, who is not named on the source page.
