Ida Davis, formerly Daniel Quagmire, is the transgender parent of Gary, Glenn and Brenda Quagmire, grandparent to Anna Lee and Courtney, and the former spouse of Crystal Quagmire. Seth MacFarlane voices her. She first appeared in "Quagmire's Dad", the episode in which she has gender reassignment surgery and takes the name Ida. Her military record matches her son's: she is a veteran and was a war hero in Vietnam. She and Brian Griffin have an on and off relationship.
