Written by Alex Carter and directed by Joe Vaux. First broadcast on 4 January 2015. ## Story Principal Shepherd warns Peter and Lois that Chris must pass a history exam or repeat the ninth grade. Coaching fails, so Stewie and Brian persuade Chris he is dreaming and take him back in time in the time machine. They watch Thomas Jefferson argue for the Louisiana Purchase, meet Ernest Hemingway in Paris, visit D-Day and Washington's crossing of the Delaware, and call on Jane Austen. Chris learns nothing, and after Stewie calls him a moron he storms off aboard the Titanic with the return pad. The ship strikes the iceberg, and Chris makes room in the last lifeboat by throwing a crew member overboard. Back home they find the drowned man was the ancestor of Chris's history teacher, who has therefore never been born and been replaced by one who sets no tests. ## Production and reception - The title plays on the name of the film Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure.
