# Road to India

Episode 20 of Family Guy season 14 (S14E20), the 269th Family Guy episode overall. Written by Danny Smith and directed by Greg Colton. First broadcast on 22 May 2016.

## Story

Brian's computer fails. Calling technical support, he becomes taken with Padma, an employee in India, and embellishes his life to impress her. He flies out with Stewie to meet her. Padma invites them to her family home, where Brian learns she is promised to a man called Dhiraj. She breaks off the match and declares her feelings for Brian, angering her father, who has paid a large dowry. Brian goes on a television quiz to raise the sum and loses on a cricket question. Padma then tells him the money was never needed and that she will not marry him. Meanwhile, Joe takes Peter to a bingo night at an old people's home. Peter wins, turns competitive and installs himself as Bingo Captain, until Lois wears him down and he goes home. A song and dance number closes the episode.

## Production and reception

- It is the eighth and last of the show's Road to episodes. Greg Colton had directed four earlier ones, and Danny Smith had previously written "Road to the North Pole". ([Wikipedia: Road to India (Family Guy)](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Road_to_India_(Family_Guy)))
- It drew a rating of 1.2 among viewers aged 18 to 49, and 2.59 million people watched, the highest figure on Fox that night. ([Wikipedia: Road to India (Family Guy)](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Road_to_India_(Family_Guy)))
- Jesse Schedeen of IGN scored it 4.4 out of 10, faulting the Peter subplot and the reliance on well worn ideas about India. ([Wikipedia: Road to India (Family Guy)](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Road_to_India_(Family_Guy)))
