About Carter Pewterschmidt

Carter Pewterschmidt is the father of Lois, Carol and Patrick, the husband of Barbara Pewterschmidt and the father-in-law of Peter Griffin, which makes him grandfather to Stewie, Chris and Meg on their mother's side. Seth MacFarlane voices him. He is an old money WASP industrialist and shipping magnate, a multibillionaire who owns several large companies. The show writes him as cruel, selfish, petty and prejudiced. He first appeared in "Peter, Peter, Caviar Eater". Carter holds his son-in-law in contempt and never approved of the marriage to Lois, although the two men have now and then worked together where a shared aim suited them both.
