About Barbara Pewterschmidt
Barbara Pewterschmidt, known as Babs, is the wife of Carter Pewterschmidt and the mother of Lois, Carol and Patrick. She is therefore the mother-in-law of Peter Griffin and a grandmother to Stewie, Chris and Meg on the Pewterschmidt side. Alex Borstein voices her. She was born Barbara Hebrewberg, and the show establishes her as a Jewish American who survived the Holocaust and then hid that background to marry Carter. Her first appearance came in "Peter, Peter, Caviar Eater".
