Peter, Peter, Caviar Eater

Episode 1 of Family Guy season 2 (S02E01), the 8th Family Guy episode overall. Written by Chris Sheridan and directed by Jeff Myers. First broadcast on 23 September 1999.

Story

Lois's wealthy aunt Marguerite Pewterschmidt dies on the Griffins' doorstep. A videotaped will leaves Lois Cherrywood Manor, an estate in Newport, Rhode Island. The family move in and the staff greet them with a song, This House Is Freakin' Sweet, before revealing they were paid only until it ended. Peter rehires them, having sold the Quahog house without telling Lois. Out of place in Newport society, Peter has Brian try to make him a gentleman using shock therapy and Frasier. At a charity auction Peter bids $100 million for a vase. To cover the debt he fabricates claims to get the manor listed as a landmark. He then finds hidden photographs showing the house was once a brothel visited by Robert E. Lee, Ulysses S. Grant and Abraham Lincoln. The pictures make the property valuable; Peter sells one to a tabloid and buys back the family home.
