About Kevin Swanson
Kevin Swanson is the twenty-five-year-old son of Joe and Bonnie Swanson and the brother of Susie. Seth MacFarlane voiced him in the early appearances and Scott Grimes has taken the part since. His first appearance was the first-season episode "A Hero Sits Next Door", and he featured mainly across the opening three seasons, turning up only occasionally after that and without lines. He enlisted in the United States Army and was sent to fight in the Iraq War, but the treatment of Iraqi civilians by American forces led him to desert. He faked his own death after a bomb hidden in a turkey and set off by a mobile phone killed the rest of his platoon on Thanksgiving. The episode "Thanksgiving" has him return to his parents. He lives with depression, behavioural disorders and post-traumatic stress disorder.
