Da Boom
Episode 3 of Family Guy season 2 (S02E03), the 10th Family Guy episode overall. Written by Neil Goldman and Garrett Donovan and directed by Bob Jaques. First broadcast on 26 December 1999.
Story
On New Year's Eve 1999 Peter is warned by a man in a chicken suit that the Y2K bug will end the world. Peter locks the family in the basement. At midnight the bug triggers a nuclear holocaust that destroys most of civilisation. The Griffins survive and head for Natick, Massachusetts, where Peter hopes the Twinkie factory still stands. Stewie falls into nuclear waste on the way and begins to mutate. The factory is intact, and the family found New Quahog around it with Peter as mayor. When Peter starts making guns from the town's irrigation pipes, the citizens banish the family. Stewie, now an octopus below the waist, has laid hundreds of eggs, and the hatchlings overrun the town. The Griffins set off for a Carvel factory in Framingham. A live action epilogue reveals the whole story as a dream of Pam Ewing from Dallas.
