Meg Stinks!
Episode 19 of Family Guy season 12 (S12E19), the 229th Family Guy episode overall. Written by Danny Smith and directed by Bob Bowen. First broadcast on 4 May 2014.
Story
At the James Woods High School college fair, Meg turns out to be a top student, and Principal Shepherd arranges her an interview at Green Mountain College in Vermont. A lost bet leaves Peter to drive her there. On the way the two find common ground over Bob Seger on a diner jukebox, and Peter explains how the family cost him a career in podiatry. They crash a student party and miss the interview. Meg defends the trip to Lois but tires of Peter's stunts, reschedules and goes alone, telling him she wants a responsible father rather than a friend. She gets in. In a second storyline, Brian is sprayed by a skunk, is made to live outdoors, takes to hunting on all fours and returns only when a thunderstorm breaks.
Production and reception
- The broadcast took a 2.2 rating among adults aged 18 to 49 and 4.40 million viewers, the best figures of the night on Fox. Wikipedia, Meg Stinks!
- Eric Thurm of The A.V. Club graded the episode B, calling it a large improvement on the earlier Meg story "A Fistful of Meg" and praising the plot between Peter and Meg. Wikipedia, Meg Stinks!
