Call Girl

Episode 14 of Family Guy season 11 (S11E14), the 202nd Family Guy episode overall. Written by Wellesley Wild and directed by John Holmquist. First broadcast on 10 March 2013.

Story

Chris builds a birdhouse copied from an episode of Benson, and the falcon that raids it turns Peter into a falconer. He trains the bird, names it Xerxes and uses it to steal a motorcycle, then loses everything he owns, the falcon included, when the owner sues. Lois takes work that turns out to be on a phone sex line and finds herself answering most of the men in Quahog. Peter, complaining at the Drunken Clam that he is not getting any sex, is handed the number by Quagmire and rings it. Lois knows him at once, plays along and eventually agrees to meet him in disguise. Eight hours after they sleep together she tells him the truth, and Peter says he had somehow known.

Production and reception

  • It took a 2.7 rating among adults aged 18 to 49 and 5.27 million viewers, the most watched title on Fox's animation line-up that night. Wikipedia, Call Girl (Family Guy)
  • Kevin McFarland of The A.V. Club graded it C-, arguing that the phone sex strand kept pointing at a better episode buried inside it and that he would rather have watched more of the falcon. Wikipedia, Call Girl (Family Guy)
  • Mark Trammell of TV Equals called it good on the whole and among the more solid instalments of the season, if not one of the best the series had made. Wikipedia, Call Girl (Family Guy)
  • Carter Dotson of TV Fanatic rated it 3.5 out of 5, finding the situation unusually complicated for the series and less bleak than other recent instalments. Wikipedia, Call Girl (Family Guy)
