Rock Hard
Episode 2 of Family Guy season 20 (S20E02), the 371st Family Guy episode overall. Written by Matt McElaney and directed by Greg Colton. First broadcast on 3 October 2021.
Story
In a record shop, Peter and his friends tell three stories about music legends. Peter casts himself as a 1960s singer who founds a rock band, until personal troubles end in a fatal overdose. Jerome, in a send-up of Green Book, plays a bluesman who trades his soul for talent, then loses his songs to a friend who grows famous on them and gives him no credit. Stewie plays a singer pushed into music by his parents and worn down by his manager and by drugs, with Brian as his songwriting partner. Afterwards Peter praises a four-piece band from the 1960s that changed music. Quagmire assumes he means the Beatles, but Peter means the Trashmen, and the four men perform "Surfin' Bird".
