Peter's Two Dads

Episode 10 of Family Guy season 5 (S05E10), the 90th Family Guy episode overall. Written by Danny Smith and directed by Cyndi Tang. First broadcast on 11 February 2007.

Story

At Meg's seventeenth birthday party Peter, dressed as a clown, gets drunk, rides a unicycle down the stairs and lands on his father Francis, who dies in hospital after condemning him as a drunk. Peter gives up drinking, and a session with a hypnotherapist recovers the memory that Francis was not his biological father. Thelma Griffin confirms an affair with an Irishman named Mickey McFinnigan. Peter and Brian go to Ireland and find Mickey serving as the village drunk, a post the locals hold in esteem. Mickey denies the connection until Peter beats him in a drinking contest. Brian points out that Francis raised Peter as his own. In the subplot, Lois smacks Stewie for breaking her pearls, after which he goes to great lengths to be hit again until he hears what he is asking for and stops.
