New Kidney in Town

Episode 8 of Family Guy season 9 (S09E08), the 155th Family Guy episode overall. Written by Matt Harrigan and Dave Willis and directed by Pete Michels. First broadcast on 9 January 2011.

Story

Quagmire gives Peter his first Red Bull at the Drunken Clam, and Peter is soon drinking it by the pack and doing everything at speed. Lois pours the supply away, so Peter mixes his own with kerosene, ignores Brian's warning, drinks it and collapses. His kidneys fail. Three weeks of dialysis wear him down, he skips a session on Joe and Quagmire's advice and turns jaundiced. Lois is not a match, but Brian is, and since two dog kidneys would be needed he agrees to a donation that would kill him. Stewie takes him to a playground to prevent it, and Brian argues that the family needs a father more than a dog. At the hospital Dr Hartman turns out to be a match and donates instead. Separately, Chris passes off Meg's thoughts as his own essay for a presidential visit, and she is credited in the end.
